I hate the stretching widescreen TVs do to watch television shows. Zooming in is OK, but you lose part of the top and bottom of the picture. The black bars are just stupid, why pay all that money for an HDTV when 99% of TV is in 4:3 format. HD is definitely cool, but to me its not worth the costs getting it. A huge rip-off in my opinion, unless your rich.

okay so I’m throwing my mom a surprise party and since the tv is so huge I can’t really move it out of the living room where most of the guest will be so I thought in order to kind of work with it rather than it being just a big space taker I could put a cool graphic image of my mom on the screen but I don’t know how so if anyone knows how to do that let me know please and I also need the picture resolution so I can make it big enough =] thanks

I know they are going to make Twilight into a movie, but wouldn’t it be cool if it was a tv show? they wont be able to put everything into the movie, but they could do it in a show. also since more books are gonna come out(eclipse, breaking dawn, midnight sun, etc.) the show could continue. That would be awesome, but they probablly make more money off a movie. Just a idea that popped into my head, what do you think?????

I have a 34″ Toshiba CRT television, and have been running calibration DVD’s to get the proper color/sharpness/brightness/contrast for the unit. What I am unsure about is which color temperature I should select while running these calibrations. My television offers 3 settings - cool, medium, and war.

Video generally looks the best with the warm setting, although I have noticed with certain DVD’s that the televion does not obtain “perfect blacks” during certain segments. They often have a reddish hue to them.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how to obtain the best looking overall picture using both temp settings and standard picture settings?
